J.D. Power recently released their 2016 Initial Quality Study, and Gay Family Kia couldn’t be more proud! Two Kias were selected as award recipients. The 2016 Kia Soul was awarded the Highest Ranked Compact Multi-Purpose Vehicle in Initial Quality, and the 2016 Sportage was awarded the Highest Ranked Small SUV in Initial Quality.
How It Gets Awarded
The J.D. Power Initial Quality Study measures new vehicle quality at 90 days of ownership. This industry benchmark has proven an excellent predictor of long term reliability which impacts purchase decisions. The study examines problem areas in eight categories – exterior, seats, driving experience, engine/transmission, features/controls/displays, interior, HVAC, and audio/communication/navigation.
The J.D. Power Initial Quality Study provides insight to manufacturers and consumers regarding – most problem-free experience in new models, quality differences among import and domestic models, and quality differences among new versus old model design.
